Tom Bell Chevrolet is hiring a full-time Service Writer for our Redlands, San Bernardino County dealership. In this essential role, you'll connect customers with our service team, manage appointments, prepare accurate service documentation, and ensure every guest leaves satisfied with their vehicle care experience.

Position Summary

As a Service Writer at Tom Bell Chevrolet, you're the backbone of our service department. You'll meet with customers to identify their vehicle needs, create detailed service estimates and work orders, and coordinate seamlessly with our skilled technicians. Your ability to communicate clearly and organize efficiently will directly impact customer satisfaction and operational flow.

Your Responsibilities

• Consult with customers to identify and document vehicle service requirements
• Prepare accurate work orders and service estimates for customer review
• Schedule and manage customer service appointments
• Communicate repair timelines, costs, and progress updates to customers
• Coordinate with service technicians on job specifications and priorities
• Maintain complete, organized service records and documentation
• Process payments and manage service department administrative tasks
• Address customer questions and concerns with professionalism and care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Customer service experience, preferably in automotive or dealership environments
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple appointments and deadlines
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency with computer systems and dealership service management software
• Professional demeanor with strong problem-solving capabilities
