Ladgov Corporation is hiring a full-time Braille and Tactile Embosser in Washington, D.C. to help produce accessible braille and tactile materials for the Library of Congress National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled (NLS).

About the Role

As a Braille and Tactile Embosser with Ladgov Corporation, you will support the creation of high-quality braille and tactile reading materials that expand access to information for blind and print-disabled patrons. Working on-site in Washington, D.C., this position plays a direct part in advancing the mission of the Library of Congress National Library Service (NLS) by turning standard content into precise, reader-ready accessible formats.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce accessible braille and tactile materials in support of the Library of Congress NLS.
• Operate and maintain embossing equipment to deliver accurate, well-formatted output.
• Transcribe and format text into braille while following recognized braille standards.
• Review finished materials for accuracy, consistency, and quality before distribution.
• Coordinate with team members and program staff to meet production schedules and accessibility requirements.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience or qualification in braille production, transcription, or tactile material embossing.
• Familiarity with braille embossing equipment and accessible-format production workflows.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in accessible content.
• Ability to work on-site full-time in Washington, D.C.
• Comfort supporting federal library programs and adhering to established accessibility standards.
