Senior Platform Engineer, Event Streaming Platform (Kafka) - Wolt - English | Berlin, Germany

Role Overview

We're seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Event Streaming team at Wolt. As part of the distributed team responsible for Kafka infrastructure and event streaming systems, you'll contribute to building and running the streaming backbone that powers business-critical workflows across multiple companies. This role involves owning distributed systems at scale and making long-term architecture decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and operate highly reliable, scalable, and efficient event streaming infrastructure, including Kafka and in-house Event Streaming abstraction (Event Bus).
• Contribute to the reliability of critical parts of infrastructure used by thousands of services across multiple companies.
• Participate in long-term architecture decisions that shape the future of our event streaming platform.

What You Bring

• Experience with distributed systems and large-scale infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Kafka and related technologies.
• A strong background in reliability engineering and platform engineering.
• Ability to work on complex, high-impact projects that require a deep understanding of system design and implementation.
