Position Summary
We are seeking dedicated SEN Support Assistants to work 1:1 with children in Key Stage 1 within mainstream primary schools. These roles are based on-site in SEN provisions and support pupils with a range of additional needs including communication differences.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Supporting children in Key Stage 1 with a range of additional needs, particularly those with communication differences
- Working one-on-one to provide tailored support as per individual education plans (IEPs)
- Assisting teachers and other professionals to create inclusive learning environments for pupils with special educational needs
- Maintaining accurate records of pupil progress and communicating regularly with parents and school staff
- Participating in team meetings and professional development opportunities as required
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a relevant qualification such as an NVQ Level 3 or above, or equivalent experience. Knowledge of special educational needs (SEN) and the ability to work effectively with children who have additional needs are essential.
