What You'll Do
- Conduct health screenings and assessments for early childhood students
- Manage acute and chronic health conditions, including medication administration and emergency response
- Develop individualized health plans in coordination with families and educators
- Collaborate with special education teams and school staff to address student health needs
- Maintain comprehensive, confidential health records in compliance with privacy regulations
- Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student health and wellness
- Train and support school staff on health protocols and emergency procedures
- Document health issues and interventions according to district requirements
What We're Looking For
- Valid Michigan school nurse certification or eligibility
- Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license or reciprocal eligibility
- Experience working with early childhood and special education populations
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with families and staff
- Knowledge of child development, health screening, and emergency protocols
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work in a team setting
- Proficiency with health information systems and electronic documentation
