RN – Medical/Surgical – Travel

ProTouch Staffing is seeking a full-time Travel RN – Medical/Surgical to join a healthcare team in Springfield, Effingham County — a rewarding opportunity for experienced nurses ready to make an immediate impact in a high-quality inpatient setting.

About the Role

This travel nursing assignment places you on a Medical/Surgical unit in Springfield, where you will deliver direct patient care across a diverse adult population. As a Med/Surg travel RN, you'll integrate quickly into an established clinical team while bringing the expertise and adaptability that define great travel nurses. Weekly gross pay is $2,110, structured as $864 taxable and $1,246 non-taxable.

What You'll Do

• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized, evidence-based care plans
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols
• Monitor and document patient status, recognizing changes in condition and escalating appropriately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and ancillary staff to coordinate safe, efficient patient throughput
• Educate patients and family members on diagnoses, discharge instructions, and self-care strategies
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Uphold infection control standards and facility compliance requirements throughout the assignment

What We're Looking For

• Current, unencumbered RN licensure valid in Illinois (compact license accepted)
• Minimum of one to two years of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience in an acute care hospital
• Active BLS certification; ACLS preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage a full Med/Surg patient load with confidence and clinical precision
• Strong communication skills and the professional flexibility travel nursing demands
• Proficiency with electronic health record documentation
