Join The Catholic University of America's Law Library as a full-time Resources & Services Assistant (GLP). This is a hands-on position supporting library operations, collection management, and digital services at one of the nation's leading Catholic research institutions.
About the Role
As a Resources & Services Assistant in our Law Library, you'll play a key role in keeping our collection accessible and our patrons supported. You'll work across physical and digital library environments, managing materials, assisting patrons, and supporting the technological infrastructure that powers modern legal research.
What You'll Do
- Manage and maintain the law library's tangible collection, including acquisition processing, shelving, condition assessment, and weeding
- Provide direct user assistance at reference desks, circulation points, and research stations throughout the library
- Support digital initiatives including the maintenance and organization of our institutional repository
- Develop and maintain online user guides, research aids, and digital content to help students and researchers navigate legal resources
- Assist with technical support for library systems, databases, and patron-facing technology
- Contribute to special projects that enhance library services and user experience
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or library experience preferred
- Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
- Excellent communication abilities and a commitment to customer service
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with library staff
- Comfort with technology and willingness to learn library systems and digital tools
- Interest in supporting legal research and education
