About This Position
The Department of Ecology & Evolution at The University of Chicago invites applications for a shared Laboratory Technician – Research position to start in fall 2026. This is a full-time (40 h/week), in-person role with responsibilities split equally between the Kreiner Lab and Carley Lab.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research under the guidance of both the Kreiner Lab and Carley Lab teams
- Assist with experimental design, data collection, and analysis
- Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies
- Prepare samples for experiments and analyses
- Document all laboratory activities in a clear and organized manner
- Collaborate with team members on research projects
What We're Looking For
We seek candidates who possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. A background in biology or related fields is preferred, but not required. Experience with laboratory techniques and equipment is beneficial.
