Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Graduate to join our acute care medicine team in Cheektowaga, Erie County. This full-time nursing position offers an excellent opportunity for newly licensed RNs to launch their career in a supportive, collaborative healthcare environment.
About the Role
As a Registered Nurse at Yale New Haven Health, you'll deliver compassionate, evidence-based patient care in our adult medicine units, including specialized renal care services. You'll work alongside experienced clinicians in a dynamic setting where you'll develop clinical expertise, refine your nursing judgment, and build the foundation for a rewarding healthcare career.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care to adults with complex medical conditions across our acute care medicine units
- Monitor vital signs, interpret telemetry readings, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per physician orders and nursing protocols
- Communicate effectively with the care team—physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary staff—to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Perform clinical assessments, document findings in the electronic health record, and contribute to the patient's care plan
- Provide compassionate patient education and support to patients and families throughout their hospital stay
- Maintain a safe, clean care environment and adhere to infection control and safety standards
- Collaborate with your nursing team to ensure efficient unit operations and excellent patient outcomes
What We're Looking For
- Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
