About the Role

This position places you on the front lines of the hospital’s emergency department, where you will assess, treat, and monitor patients during overnight hours. What You'll Do

• Perform rapid triage and initial assessments for patients presenting with acute illnesses or injuries.
• Administer medications, start IV lines, and execute physician‑ordered interventions under emergency protocols.
• Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and patient responses, adjusting care plans as needed.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure informed decision‑making.
• Maintain accurate electronic health record documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Participate in department‑wide quality improvement initiatives and emergency preparedness drills.
• Support charge nurse functions, including patient flow coordination and resource allocation during peak periods.

What We're Looking For

• Active Registered Nurse license in good standing with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
• Minimum of one year of recent emergency department experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical fundamentals will be considered.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS certifications are advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to remain calm, think critically, and act swiftly in high‑acuity situations.
• Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a commitment to providing culturally sensitive care.
• Reliability and willingness to work rotating night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and basic computer applications.
