Core Duties

• Complete systematic patient assessments and reassessments to identify changing health needs
• Administer medications and prescribed therapies safely while observing for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions
• Develop, revise and implement individualized nursing care plans in real time
• Coordinate with physicians, allied health colleagues and support staff to promote seamless care pathways
• Educate patients and families on condition management, medications and post-discharge self-care strategies
• Document all assessments, interventions and outcomes thoroughly in the clinical record
• Anticipate and manage clinical deterioration by initiating appropriate protocols and escalation

Skills & Qualifications

• Valid registration as a Registered Nurse entitled to practise in Ontario
• Sound knowledge of medical nursing principles, common pathophysiology and pharmacological interventions
• Proven ability to prioritise care and make sound clinical decisions under pressure
• Clear communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams
• Competence with electronic documentation systems and accurate charting requirements
• Physical and emotional resilience to manage a full-time acute-care workload
