This full-time position in New Britain offers structured clinical training and mentorship, designed to launch your nursing career within the Hartford Healthcare system.
About the Role
This graduate nurse position features the third shift schedule (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM), working every third weekend and alternating holidays. You'll develop clinical expertise in labor and delivery nursing under direct supervision, while contributing to safe, evidence-based maternity care. You'll be part of a dedicated team supporting mothers and newborns at a critical moment.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care throughout labor, delivery, and recovery
- Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs and clinical status
- Work collaboratively with physicians, midwives, and healthcare teams
- Educate patients and families about birth and recovery
- Maintain clinical documentation and coordinate patient care plans
- Build competency in labor and delivery equipment and protocols
- Support quality improvement and safety initiatives
What We're Looking For
- RN or GN licensure (current or within eligibility period)
- Recent graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to professional development
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
- Physical capability to perform the demands of a twelve-hour clinical shift
