Programme Policy Officer ( Food Systems) – NOA – Mogadishu

WFP is seeking a Programme Policy Officer (Food Systems) to join our team in Mogadiscio, Somalia, The Dem. Rep. Of. This full-time position plays a crucial role in shaping food systems policies and programs.

About the Role

In this role, you will contribute to the development and implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at improving food security and nutrition. Your work will involve policy analysis, program design, and collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance food systems resilience.

Core Duties

• Conduct comprehensive analyses of food systems policies and their impact on local communities.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve food security and nutrition outcomes.
• Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and other partners to ensure effective policy implementation.
• Provide regular updates and reports on project progress and outcomes to senior management.
• Participate in the planning and execution of training sessions and workshops to build capacity among local partners.

Skills & Qualifications

• A degree in agriculture, economics, public health, or a related field.
• Proven experience in food systems policy development and implementation.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Familiarity with food security and nutrition programs in developing countries.
• Fluency in English and Somali is essential.
