The Opportunity

Join Hynds Pipe Systems, a leading infrastructure product manufacturer in New Zealand (nationwide) (nationwide). As a Production Engineer at our Pokeno facility, you will play a crucial role in driving continuous improvement and championing quality right first time. Reporting to the Senior Production Engineer, your responsibilities include owning project planning end-to-end and ensuring high-quality standards across all production processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and reduce costs
• Owning project planning from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery of projects
• Champion quality right first time by implementing robust quality control measures and processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements in all production activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a production engineering role within the manufacturing industry
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
• Experienced in project management with an ability to plan and execute projects effectively
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement solutions
• Proficient in using relevant software tools for production planning, quality control, and data analysis
• Aptitude for working in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
