Teacher – English as a Second Language (ESL)

About the Role

You'll provide specialized ESL instruction to students acquiring English as an additional language, creating a classroom where learners build confidence and competence across speaking, reading, writing, and listening. Your work bridges language development with early academic foundations, directly shaping how students engage with education.

What You'll Do

• Develop and deliver differentiated English language instruction aligned with district and state standards
• Assess student proficiency levels and monitor progress toward measurable language goals
• Build an inclusive, culturally responsive learning environment where students feel comfortable taking language risks
• Partner with general education teachers to integrate language support across content areas
• Engage families through regular communication about their child's language development and academic growth
• Implement evidence-based ESL pedagogy and instructional strategies
• Document student achievement, maintain detailed records, and adjust instruction based on assessment data

What We're Looking For

• Valid state teaching credential with ESL endorsement or qualification
• Background in linguistics, language acquisition, or English language instruction
• Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction for multilingual learners at varying proficiency levels
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and colleagues
• Passion for supporting English language learners and diverse communities
• Proficiency with educational technology, student information systems, and data analysis
• Collaborative approach to working within a school team
