OceanaGold is seeking a results-driven Production Metallurgist to join our operations team in Kershaw, Lancaster County. This full-time, on-site role is ideal for a metallurgical professional eager to optimize gold recovery while championing a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
About the Role
As a Production Metallurgist with OceanaGold in Kershaw, Lancaster County, you will focus on unlocking the full value of our natural resources, processing plant, and equipment. Working hands-on with the production team, you will help ensure that gold output consistently meets or surpasses budget-aligned targets, all while reinforcing a workplace where safety comes first.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the efficient use of our ore, plant, and equipment to maximize the value extracted from each.
- Support a safe operating environment with the shared aim of zero lost-time injuries.
- Meet or exceed budget-compliant production targets for gold.
- Coach and develop fellow team members, strengthening both individual capability and overall team performance.
- Contribute to process monitoring and improvement initiatives across the metallurgical operation.
Qualifications
- A background in metallurgy, mineral processing, or a closely related discipline relevant to gold production.
- A demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and injury prevention.
- The ability to collaborate effectively and help grow the skills of those around you.
- A focus on performance, with the drive to consistently hit or beat operational targets.
- Willingness to work full-time and on-site in Kershaw, Lancaster County (this position is not remote).
