About the Role
The Pediatric Cancer Epidemiologist will conduct and support research initiatives focused on understanding the epidemiology of childhood cancers. Working within a collaborative research environment, you'll analyze cancer incidence, prevalence, and survival trends while contributing to evidence that informs clinical practice and public health policy. This role bridges clinical medicine and epidemiological science within one of the nation's premier pediatric cancer centers.
What You'll Do
- Design and conduct epidemiological studies examining risk factors, trends, and outcomes in pediatric cancer populations
- Manage and analyze cancer registry and research databases using statistical and computational methods
- Collaborate with pediatric oncologists, researchers, and multidisciplinary teams on cancer research initiatives
- Develop study protocols and ensure compliance with institutional review board requirements
- Prepare manuscripts and present findings at scientific conferences and in peer-reviewed publications
- Contribute to data collection, quality assurance, and epidemiological surveillance efforts
What We're Looking For
- Master's degree or doctorate in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, or related field
- Demonstrated experience with epidemiological research design and statistical analysis
- Proficiency in data management and analysis software
- Strong writing and communication skills with ability to present complex findings clearly
- Knowledge of childhood cancer, cancer registries, or pediatric health research preferred
- Commitment to advancing cancer research and improving outcomes for children with cancer
