What You'll Do

• Patrol assigned areas of Stuart to deter criminal activity and ensure public safety
• Respond to calls for service, assess situations, and take appropriate law enforcement action
• Provide residents and visitors with accurate information and community-oriented assistance
• Mediate disputes and de-escalate conflicts using communication and professional judgment
• Connect individuals with appropriate community resources and referral services
• Safeguard property and conduct crime prevention activities throughout Martin County
• Prepare accurate incident reports, field documentation, and related law enforcement records
• Testify in court proceedings and collaborate with prosecutors as required
• Support fellow officers and contribute to a team-focused department culture

What We're Looking For

• Current or prior Florida law enforcement certification (or eligibility for Florida certification)
• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound discretion and remain composed in high-stress situations
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for accurate reporting and community interaction
• Physical fitness sufficient to perform all duties, including those involving personal risk
• Commitment to ethical, professional, and community-centered policing practices
• Valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record
