Family Pastor

Shepherd Staff is partnering with Walterboro First Baptist Church to call a faithful, relationally gifted Family Pastor to serve in Walterboro, Colleton County, South Carolina. This full-time, on-site pastoral role offers the opportunity to shepherd families across every season of life within a historic and growing congregation.

About the Role

As the Family Pastor at Walterboro First Baptist Church, you will guide and disciple families, children, students, and parents toward spiritual maturity rooted in the gospel. Walterboro First Baptist Church was established in 1858 and is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, carrying a long legacy of gospel ministry throughout Colleton County. With weekly attendance climbing steadily, the church is seeking a dedicated leader to help nurture the next generation of believers and strengthen family discipleship.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and lead ministries that equip families, parents, children, and students to grow in faith.
• Provide pastoral care, counsel, and encouragement to households across the congregation.
• Teach and preach biblical truth that aligns with Southern Baptist Convention doctrine.
• Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteers who serve in family and youth-focused programs.
• Partner with church leadership to support overall vision, outreach, and congregational growth.

Qualifications

• A clear personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a calling to family-centered ministry.
• Theological alignment with the beliefs and practices of the Southern Baptist Convention.
• Pastoral, teaching, or discipleship experience, ideally within a local church context.
• Strong relational, communication, and organizational abilities.
• Willingness to live in and serve the Walterboro and Colleton County community full-time.
