Optometric Assistant Part Time

Join Visionworks in Potsdam as a Part Time Optometric Assistant and become a key member of our clinical team. In this role, you'll create exceptional patient experiences by supporting optometrists, conducting diagnostic assessments, and guiding patients through every step of their eye care visit.

About the Role

As an Optometric Assistant at Visionworks, you'll bridge the gap between patients and our eye care professionals. You'll prepare patients for comprehensive eye examinations, administer clinical diagnostic testing, and deliver clear explanations of procedures to ensure comfort and confidence. Your contribution directly impacts how patients experience quality vision care in our Potsdam office.

What You'll Do

• Greet patients and complete intake procedures to ensure smooth visits
• Perform pre-examination diagnostic tests including visual acuity screening and intraocular pressure measurement
• Operate and maintain clinical instruments with precision and care
• Educate patients about testing procedures and eye health in clear, friendly language
• Assist optometrists during examinations and treatment procedures
• Manage patient records, scheduling, and insurance verification
• Sterilize instruments and maintain clean, organized clinical spaces
