Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced National Commercial Freight Manager to join our team at S&T MyPlace. As the leader of our last-mile freight operations, you will be responsible for optimizing logistics processes across our extensive network of branches and distribution centers. This role is based in Auckland (East Tamaki) and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and strategic planning.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of national freight operations
• Collaborate with regional managers to ensure seamless coordination between branches and distribution centers
• Analyze current logistics processes, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions for improvement
• Manage relationships with external carriers and negotiate favorable rates and service levels
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators to senior management

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial freight or logistics management
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change initiatives
• Strong understanding of transportation, warehousing, and supply chain management principles
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven track record of improving operational efficiency through process optimization
• A valid New Zealand driver’s license is required
