About the Role

As an MnSCU Academic Professional 2, you'll serve as a key advocate for student success, working to help learners overcome barriers, stay engaged, and achieve their academic and career goals. This role combines meaningful student support with strategic retention initiatives in a collaborative, student-centered environment.

What You'll Do

• Connect with students to identify challenges—academic, personal, or financial—and link them to appropriate campus resources and support services
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, faculty, and staff to create a coordinated support network
• Track student progress and engagement, using data to identify early warning signs and intervene proactively
• Participate in retention initiatives and campus events that strengthen community and belonging
• Collaborate with academic and support departments to ensure students receive holistic, integrated services
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting on student outcomes and program effectiveness

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work with diverse student populations
• Organizational skills and attention to detail in managing student information and follow-up
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in student services, education, or related field
• Experience with student information systems, data tracking, or similar tools is valued
