Manager, Accounting Advisory Services – Nonprofit Industry Clients

Wipfli LLP seeks a Manager, Accounting Advisory Services - Nonprofit Industry Clients to lead client engagements and advisory initiatives from our West Milwaukee office. This full-time position offers the opportunity to advise mission-driven organizations on complex accounting, financial reporting, and governance matters while building and mentoring a high-performing team.

About the Role

As Manager, Accounting Advisory Services focused on nonprofit clients, you will drive strategic advisory relationships with tax-exempt organizations, nonprofits, and foundations. You'll oversee the delivery of specialized accounting and financial consulting services, ensuring exceptional client outcomes while maintaining the highest professional standards. This leadership role combines direct client engagement with team management and business development for the nonprofit sector.

What You'll Do

• Lead and manage accounting advisory engagements for nonprofit and tax-exempt clients, addressing financial reporting, compliance, and operational challenges
• Build and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering their technical growth and client service excellence
• Develop client proposals, scope engagements, and deliver results-driven advisory solutions in nonprofit accounting and governance
• Advise nonprofit organizations on accounting best practices, internal controls, financial strategies, and regulatory compliance
• Maintain client relationships, identify service expansion opportunities, and contribute to business growth within the nonprofit sector
• Ensure quality control, adherence to professional standards, and timely delivery across all engagements

What We're Looking For

• CPA with substantive experience in nonprofit accounting, financial reporting, or audit advisory services
• Proven track record managing client relationships and leading accounting engagements for tax-exempt organizations
• Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to develop and mentor accounting professionals
• Deep knowledge of nonprofit financial management, Form 990 reporting, ASC 958 (nonprofit accounting), and regulatory requirements
• Excellent communication and business development abilities
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
