Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive and reactive maintenance on electrical distribution systems, motors, drives, switchgear and control circuits to maintain high plant availability.
• Diagnose electrical faults using multimeters, insulation testers and circuit diagrams, then execute safe and effective repairs in line with isolation and permit procedures.
• Install, commission and modify electrical equipment, panels and cabling while ensuring compliance with BS 7671 and site electrical safety rules.
• Update maintenance records, complete risk assessments and contribute to continuous-improvement initiatives that reduce unplanned electrical stoppages.
• Collaborate daily with mechanical colleagues and supervisors to coordinate outages and restore full electrical function as quickly and safely as possible.

Who We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical) or equivalent industrial electrical role, ideally within a manufacturing or process environment.
• Strong practical knowledge of electrical fault-finding, motor control centres, variable-speed drives and basic PLC I/O systems.
• Recognised electrical qualification such as an HNC, HND or City & Guilds qualification, together with a solid understanding of UK electrical regulations and safe systems of work.
• Ability to read schematic drawings, work at heights when required, and prioritise tasks under time pressure while always putting safety first.
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach suited to a busy site team in Portgordon, U.K.
