Light Equipment Operator

Signal Energy is hiring a Light Equipment Operator for our team in Coggon, Linn County. This full-time position offers the opportunity to operate essential machinery on active construction and development projects while contributing directly to operational success.

About the Role

As a Light Equipment Operator with Signal Energy, you'll be the hands-on professional managing compact and mid-sized equipment across our project sites. You'll perform precise, safety-conscious operation of machinery to help move projects from start to completion on time and on budget. This role demands both technical skill and a commitment to workplace safety standards that protect your team and the public.

What You'll Do

• Operate light construction equipment, including compactors, plate tampers, skid steers, and similar machinery
• Perform pre-operation inspections to ensure equipment is in proper working condition
• Transport, position, and maneuver equipment safely on job sites
• Assist crews with material movement, grading, compaction, and other tasks integral to project completion
• Adhere to all OSHA safety protocols and site-specific safety requirements
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members to coordinate equipment use
• Maintain basic equipment upkeep and report maintenance needs promptly

What We're Looking For

• Valid US driver's license with a clean driving record
• Proven experience operating light to mid-range construction equipment, or demonstrated willingness to complete required training
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety best practices
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable work ethic
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Physical capability to perform equipment operation and associated duties
• Team-oriented mindset and clear communication skills
