About This Position
This is an unpaid internship opportunity for a pre-law student to join the City Attorney's Office. The position will provide valuable experience in legal work and support the office's mission of serving as the chief legal advisor for the City of Morro Bay.
Responsibilities
- Assist with research, drafting, and preparation of legal documents
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support ongoing projects
- Prepare written summaries and reports on legal issues
- Support the City Attorney in providing legal advice to the City Council, City Manager, and various departments
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed
What We're Looking For
- Current pre-law student or recent graduate of a law school
- Strong research and writing skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Aptitude for legal analysis and problem-solving
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
- Prior experience in legal work or a related field is preferred but not required
