Role Overview

At Rocket Lab, we are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Launch Safety Software Intern to join our dynamic team. This role will be crucial in ensuring the safety and reliability of our launch systems through comprehensive software development and testing.

What You'll Do

• Contribute to the design and implementation of critical safety software for rocket launches and satellite operations.
• Perform thorough testing and debugging of software components to ensure high performance and reliability under various conditions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, mission planners, and project managers, to integrate software solutions into the overall launch process.
• Analyze system requirements and develop test cases to validate software functionality.
• Document all development activities and maintain clear records of changes and updates made during the internship period.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field with an emphasis on software engineering.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as C++, Python, or MATLAB is required.
• Experience with embedded systems and real-time operating systems would be advantageous.
• A strong understanding of safety-critical systems and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.
