Kindergarten Grade Teacher

Lufkin ISD is seeking a full-time Kindergarten Grade Teacher to join our elementary school team in Lufkin, Texas. In this role, you'll shape young learners' foundational academic skills and foster their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development during this critical stage of growth.

This kindergarten teaching position offers the opportunity to create a nurturing, engaging learning environment where students develop essential competencies and skills to function successfully in elementary school and beyond. You'll deliver thoughtfully designed instruction in core academic subjects while building a classroom culture that celebrates curiosity, cooperation, and confidence.

What You'll Do

• Plan and deliver differentiated instruction in literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies appropriate for kindergarten learners
• Establish routines, procedures, and behavioral expectations that support a positive learning community
• Assess student learning through observations, assignments, and formative assessments to guide instruction
• Communicate regularly with families about their child's progress, strengths, and learning goals
• Support students' social-emotional development, including self-regulation, cooperation, and problem-solving
• Collaborate with grade-level colleagues, specialists, and support staff to meet all students' needs
• Maintain organized, accurate records of attendance, progress, and student data

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• Current or eligible Texas Elementary Education teaching certificate
• Ability to design learning activities that promote intellectual growth and skill development
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with students, families, and colleagues
• Passion for early childhood education and helping every student reach their potential
• Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based instructional practices
