Investment Banker – Fully Remote

mercor is hiring an Investment Banker on a fully remote, contract basis for finance professionals based in Spain and across Latin America, paying up to $100/hour to help shape the next generation of AI research.

About the Role

As an Investment Banker contributor at mercor, you will lend your finance expertise to leading AI research labs, helping them refine how models reason about financial concepts. This is asynchronous, independent work suited to Spanish and LatAm finance specialists who want flexible, remote engagement on cutting-edge projects. The contract runs for a minimum of four weeks with a commitment of at least 10 hours per week, and compensation ranges from $60 to $100 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess financial models, methods, and strategies that strengthen AI model training and overall performance.
• Examine detailed financial datasets and check that they hold up against recognized industry benchmarks.
• Deliver clear, well-organized feedback to AI research teams to raise the quality of training data.
• Partner with domain experts to confirm that datasets stay accurate and relevant.
• Manage your own schedule, working independently to hit project milestones and deadlines.

Qualifications

• A minimum of two years of professional experience in one or more of the following: hedge funds, private equity, investment banking, equity research, corporate finance, or venture capital.
• Comfort working remotely and asynchronously while meeting goals without close supervision.
