Join Tomball ISD as a Developmental Special Education Aide at Willow Creek Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time position supports students with developmental disabilities in a dedicated special education setting, helping them build life skills and access meaningful instruction.
About the Role
Working under the direction of certified special education teachers, you'll provide essential support that enables students with developmental disabilities to learn, participate, and grow throughout the school day. Your work bridges academic instruction with practical life skills, creating opportunities for independence and confidence.
What You'll Do
- Assist students with self-help skills including personal care, hygiene, nutrition, and dressing routines
- Implement behavior management strategies that reinforce positive choices and classroom expectations
- Support instructional activities designed by special education teachers to meet individual student objectives
- Help students with communication, mobility, and adaptive skills during classroom and school-wide activities
- Monitor and record observations of student progress, behavior, and participation for teacher feedback
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized learning environment that meets students' physical and emotional needs
- Collaborate with special education and general education staff to support student inclusion and success

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Genuine compassion for students with disabilities and commitment to their development
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively with certified teachers and administrators
- Physical capability to assist with student mobility and daily living support
