TEAMKIDS OSHC / CHILDCARE – COORDINATOR (DIRECTOR OF SERVICE)

TeamKids is hiring a TEAMKIDS OSHC / CHILDCARE - COORDINATOR (DIRECTOR OF SERVICE) for its service in Hamlyn Heights, Geelong. This permanent part-time appointment suits a confident leader who wants to shape high-quality Outside School Hours Care for local families across the before-school, after-school and holiday periods.

Role Overview

As TEAMKIDS OSHC / CHILDCARE - COORDINATOR (DIRECTOR OF SERVICE) you will hold overall accountability for the day-to-day running and continuous improvement of the Hamlyn Heights, Geelong service. You will set the tone for a safe, welcoming environment, uphold the standards expected of an OSHC service, and guide a team of educators so that every session is purposeful and enjoyable for children. The position is part time and permanent, with service leadership responsibilities that span operational, educational and relational aspects of Outside School Hours Care.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Direct planning and delivery of before-school, after-school and vacation-care programmes so children remain engaged, active and well-supported.
• Maintain service compliance with Australian children’s education and care regulations, quality standards and organisational policies.
• Lead, coach and roster educators, fostering professional growth and a positive team culture.
• Build constructive partnerships with schools, families and the wider Hamlyn Heights and Geelong community.
• Oversee enrolment, attendance, feedback and other service administration required of a Director of Service.
• Monitor environments, resources and routines to keep children safe and responsive to their developmental needs.
• Contribute to quality-improvement planning, documenting practice and addressing opportunities identified through service reviews.

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience in Outside School Hours Care, early childhood education, or a closely related leadership setting.
• A relevant tertiary or vocational qualification in education, children’s services or a related field (or an equivalent combination of experience and study).
• Sound working knowledge of the National Quality Framework and regulatory expectations for OSHC services in Australia.
• Strong people-leadership, organisation and communication skills suited to coordinating staff, families and school stakeholders.
• Ability to balance operational detail with a clear focus on children’s wellbeing, engagement and inclusion.
• Reliability, professional judgement and a genuine interest in TeamKids careers within the OSHC / childcare sector in the Geelong area.
