Join the Johnstown Monroe School District as a High School Track Assistant Coach in Johnstown, Licking County. We are recruiting three individuals to lead and mentor our student-athletes during the 2026-2027 spring track season, fostering athletic excellence and personal growth.
About the Role
This full-time position offers a rewarding opportunity to develop young track and field athletes at the high school level. You will collaborate with coaching staff and school leadership to build a competitive, supportive athletic program that emphasizes both athletic performance and character development. Based in Johnstown, this role is central to our commitment to providing comprehensive athletic opportunities for our students.
Your Responsibilities
- Coach, train, and mentor high school track and field athletes in technical skills and competitive readiness
- Develop and implement effective training plans and practice schedules for the spring season
- Provide guidance and support to student-athletes on athletic technique, strategy, and teamwork
- Work collaboratively with the head coach and athletic department staff
- Foster a positive, inclusive team environment that prioritizes student athlete well-being
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
Skills & Qualifications
- Valid Ohio teaching license or coaching credential required
- Demonstrated knowledge of track and field coaching methodology and athlete development
- Strong ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor young athletes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to supporting the core values and mission of Johnstown Monroe School District
- Must successfully pass an FBI and BCI background check
- Enthusiasm for contributing to student success both athletically and academically
