What This Role Involves

This role involves supporting and assisting registered nurses to provide safe and quality care to patients. You will be rostered for 64 hours per fortnight, with weekend work and additional hours possible through negotiation.

Core Duties

• Assist in the delivery of patient care as directed by nursing staff.
• Support patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility assistance.
• Administer basic medications under supervision.
• Monitor and report on patient conditions to nursing staff.
• Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients.

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant who can work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Key requirements include:

• A current New Zealand healthcare assistant certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably with patients requiring day stay and ward care.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with both patients and nursing staff.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends as required.
