About This Position

We're seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our team in Stevenage on a full-time basis. This role is central to maintaining our commitment to workplace safety and compliance with UK health and safety legislation. You'll report directly to senior leadership and be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of our health and safety programme.

What You'll Do

• Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with UK regulations
• Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard evaluations across the organisation
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and prevent recurrence
• Provide health and safety training and induction to employees at all levels
• Monitor compliance with health and safety legislation and industry standards
• Manage health and safety audits and inspections
• Foster a strong health and safety culture throughout the organisation
• Maintain health and safety records and documentation
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external health and safety consultants as needed

Qualifications

• NEBOSH qualification or equivalent health and safety qualification
• Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager or in a similar health and safety role
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, including HSWA 1974 and MHSWR
• Excellent communication and training skills
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and safety audits
• Proactive approach to identifying and mitigating hazards
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Valid driving licence (preferred)
