What This Role Involves
The Health Care Aide (HCA) at Carewest is a vital member of the interprofessional health care team. Reporting directly to the Director of Care, this position provides ongoing client care at the Dr. Vernon Fanning Centre, Renal 3 East (CCC). Responsibilities include observing and monitoring clients' physical and emotional status, reporting changes in condition to Registered Nurses (RNs) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and accurately delivering prescribed medications as per policy and procedure.
What You'll Do
- Provide ongoing client care at the Dr. Vernon Fanning Centre, Renal 3 East (CCC).
- Observe, monitor, and report on clients' status/condition, including physical and emotional changes.
- Report any observed changes in client condition to RNs or LPNs as required.
- Accurately deliver prescribed medications according to policy and procedure.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or equivalent, plus graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program.
- Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Physically capable of managing the required tasks associated with this role.
