Head Coach – Varsity Track and Field

Santa Fe Christian Schools in Solana Beach, San Diego County is hiring a full-time Head Coach for our Varsity Track and Field program. We're looking for an experienced, dedicated leader ready to develop competitive athletes while fostering a culture of faith, character, and athletic excellence.

Position Summary

As Head Coach of our Varsity Track and Field team, you will lead all aspects of the program during the 26/27 season and beyond. This full-time coaching position is central to our athletics department and offers the opportunity to shape young athletes' development both competitively and personally. You will manage practice schedules, coordinate with assistant coaches, oversee equipment and facilities, and represent our athletic program in the San Diego County league.

What You'll Do

• Plan and conduct daily practices focused on building speed, endurance, technique, and field-event skills
• Teach track and field strategies tailored to event specialties (sprints, distance, relays, jumps, throws)
• Motivate and mentor student-athletes to reach their potential—both on the track and as developing young people
• Manage competition schedules, travel logistics, and meet preparation
• Develop athletes' fitness, discipline, and leadership within our faith-centered athletic culture
• Collaborate with other coaches, athletic staff, and administration on program goals and student-athlete welfare

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven coaching experience in track and field at the high school level or equivalent
• Deep knowledge of track and field events, training progression, and conditioning principles
• Ability to teach technique across multiple events and coach diverse athlete skill levels
• Strong communication and motivational skills with adolescent athletes
• Commitment to athletic development and student-athlete safety and well-being
