The Opportunity

At The Hay-Adams, a 5-star boutique hotel in the heart of Washington, DC, we are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Guest Service Agent to join our team. This role is integral to ensuring that all guests have an exceptional stay with us.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle check-ins and check-outs for all hotel guests.
• Ensure guest requests are met accurately, including verifying information and billing details.
• Greet guests upon arrival and introduce them to the bell staff.
• Assign rooms based on guest preferences and availability, and issue keys accordingly.
• Participate in upselling initiatives to move guests into higher-rated rooms or suites.
• Answer telephones, transfer calls, and take messages for guests.
• Provide information about the hotel and local area as a backup concierge when needed.
• Resolve guest issues promptly and effectively.

What You Bring

• A minimum of 1-2 years in a similar role, preferably within hospitality or customer service.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with guests professionally and courteously.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle various tasks efficiently.
• Knowledge of hotel policies and procedures as outlined in The Hay Adams handbook and department operation manual.
• A friendly demeanor and a commitment to providing exceptional guest service.
