The Hartford is seeking a General Liability Litigation Team Leader in Tarrytown to lead our GL claims team and drive excellence in claims resolution and customer service.

About the Role

As a General Liability Litigation Team Leader at The Hartford, you'll oversee a dedicated team handling complex GL coverage decisions, risk assessments, and claims resolution. This full-time position blends hands-on claims expertise with strategic team leadership, ensuring our policyholders receive the support they need during challenging situations.

What You'll Do

• Lead and mentor a team of claims professionals in resolving general liability coverage disputes and claims
• Evaluate complex GL coverage scenarios, policy terms, and risk factors to guide claim decisions
• Oversee day-to-day claims operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company standards
• Coach team members on technical expertise, professional development, and customer service excellence
• Collaborate across departments to resolve escalated claims and address policyholder concerns
• Monitor team performance metrics and identify opportunities for process improvement
• Maintain strong working relationships with policyholders, attorneys, and external partners

• Proven experience in general liability claims handling, litigation support, or related insurance operations
• Demonstrated success managing and developing high-performing teams
• Strong knowledge of GL coverage principles, policy language, and risk assessment
