Family Shelter Program Coordinator

MP RPO is hiring a Full-Time Family Shelter Program Coordinator in West Peabody, Essex County to lead daily operations at a family shelter serving approximately 50 families. This is a direct-hire opportunity for someone ready to make a tangible difference in the lives of families experiencing housing instability. Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, $22–$25 per hour with comprehensive benefits.

About the Role

As the Family Shelter Program Coordinator, you'll be the backbone of shelter operations across both congregate and scattered-site housing models. You'll manage resident intake, coordinate case management services, maintain facility records, and ensure a safe, supportive environment for vulnerable families seeking stability. This position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting while remaining focused on each family's individual needs and goals.

What You'll Do

• Process new family arrivals, complete intake assessments, and orient residents to program expectations and available services
• Coordinate daily shelter operations, including facility maintenance requests, supply inventory, and safety protocols
• Facilitate communication between residents, case managers, and external service providers to ensure coordinated support
• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation and generate program reports for supervisory and compliance review
• Support crisis de-escalation and conflict resolution when needed, maintaining a welcoming yet structured environment
• Assist with community partnerships, resource navigation, and referrals to housing, employment, and social services

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in social services, case management, housing support, or nonprofit program coordination
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
• Compassion, cultural competency, and genuine respect for families from diverse backgrounds
• Excellent communication and documentation skills, with attention to privacy and compliance
• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in social work, human services, or related field preferred
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (as scattered-site model may require occasional field visits)
• Ability to work within a mission-driven team environment and embrace the values of dignity and empowerment
