This role places an experienced transactions leader at the center of buy-side financial diligence work within EY-Parthenon Deals, supporting clients evaluating acquisitions across the United States.

About the Role

As an EY-Parthenon - Deals - Financial Diligence - Buy Side - Director in Boston, Massachusetts, you will own end-to-end diligence delivery on buy-side mandates. You will combine technical financial insight with senior client engagement, guiding teams through quality-of-earnings reviews, risk identification, and value-driver analysis so deal teams can make confident investment decisions. The position is office-based in Boston and collaborates with colleagues in other major U.S. markets as project needs require, always within a full-time employment structure.

Core Duties

• Lead buy-side financial diligence engagements, including quality-of-earnings, working-capital, and normalized EBITDA assessments for prospective acquisitions.
• Direct project teams through data analysis, accounting judgment calls, and synthesis of findings into clear diligence reports and board-ready presentations.
• Partner with private equity sponsors and corporate acquirers to scope diligence goals, manage timelines, and communicate risks, adjustments, and opportunities.
• Coordinate with tax, valuation, strategy, and other transaction specialists to deliver an integrated view of the target business.
• Coach managers, seniors, and staff on diligence craft, review workpapers for accuracy, and uphold high delivery standards under tight deal calendars.
• Shape engagement economics, staffing plans, and client communication plans while escalating material issues promptly.
• Build lasting relationships that grow EY-Parthenon Deals opportunities in the Boston market and beyond.

What We're Looking For

• Deep buy-side financial diligence experience gained in transaction services, investment banking, private equity, or a comparable advisory setting, with a track record operating at director level or equivalent.
• Mastery of financial statement analysis, quality-of-earnings methodology, cash-flow bridges, and common transaction modeling techniques.
• Proven ability to lead multi-workstream deal teams, manage concurrent engagements, and deliver clear recommendations to sophisticated investor audiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills suited to executive briefings, diligence memos, and day-to-day client dialogue.
• Comfort mentoring junior colleagues and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture in Boston, Massachusetts and virtual deal rooms.
• Self-directed judgment, commercial awareness, and calm execution when deal facts and timelines shift quickly.
