Anduril Industries seeks an experienced Environmental Manager to oversee environmental compliance and regulatory operations at our Costa Mesa, California headquarters and western U.S. facilities. This full-time position is central to maintaining our operational integrity across air quality, water resource management, and hazardous materials protocols.

About the Role

As Environmental Manager, you'll lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive environmental management programs that align Anduril's operations with stringent federal, state, and local standards. You'll be the trusted environmental lead for multiple departments and product teams, translating complex regulatory requirements into practical operational improvements. You'll directly supervise an Environmental Engineer while serving as a key advisor to our engineering and operations leadership.

Your Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary environmental compliance resource and strategic advisor for the organization
  • Secure and maintain all required environmental permits related to air emissions, stormwater discharge, wastewater management, and hazardous waste handling
  • Execute regular compliance inspections and environmental audits to identify potential issues and implement corrective measures
  • Track evolving regulatory landscapes across California and other western states with active Anduril operations to proactively address new compliance obligations
  • Author and file regulatory documentation and reports with agencies including the EPA, Orange County Sanitation District, and state environmental boards
  • Design and deliver environmental training initiatives focused on regulatory awareness and operational best practices for facility staff
  • Manage and mentor the Environmental Engineer reporting to this role
  • Establish and oversee emergency preparedness systems, including spill prevention plans and stormwater pollution prevention procedures

Who We're Looking For

You hold a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related field, with 8+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, assembly, or research and development. Your background includes substantive work with environmental agencies, federal regulators, and local authorities across air quality, water, and waste streams. You demonstrate mastery of federal regulations covering environmental protection and hazardous materials.

Your communication skills—both written and verbal—enable effective collaboration with senior leadership, regulatory officials, operations teams, and external partners. You're organized, deadline-driven, and energized by navigating competing priorities across multiple concurrent initiatives. You're equally comfortable working independently and contributing within cross-functional teams. You're eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Preferred qualifications include depth in air permitting and emissions reporting (Title V permits, NPDES applications, Tier II and TRI submissions). Familiarity with South Coast Air Quality Management District, Department of Toxic Substances Control, and Orange County Sanitation Authority regulations is valuable. Willingness to travel up to 20% is beneficial.
