Energy and Minerals Support Member – Deep Fork NWR

Join EPIC—American Conservation Experience—as an Energy and Minerals Support Member at Deep Fork National Wildlife Refuge in Okmulgee, Okmulgee County. This is a part-time, seasonal position offering hands-on experience in wildlife conservation and energy data analysis under direct mentorship from U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service professionals.

About the Role

The Energy and Minerals Support Member position is a unique opportunity to contribute to critical conservation work while developing professional skills in environmental data management and field assessment. You'll work alongside USFWS staff at Deep Fork NWR, supporting strategic initiatives related to energy development and wildlife habitat conservation in Oklahoma. This role combines office-based data work with outdoor fieldwork in the refuge's diverse ecosystems.

What You'll Do

• Collect and organize field data supporting energy and minerals assessments at the refuge
• Assist with geographic information systems (GIS) mapping and analysis of conservation priorities
• Document and analyze habitat conditions and wildlife observations
• Prepare reports and data summaries for USFWS staff and conservation planning
• Support wildlife research initiatives and conservation project implementation
• Participate in professional development and hands-on training with agency mentors
