Join Gateway Community Action Agency as an Early Head Start Floater in Morehead, Rowan County. This part-time position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on early childhood development while supporting our dedicated teaching teams across classroom environments.
About the Role
As an Early Head Start Floater, you'll provide essential instructional and operational support to classroom teachers and children in our Early Head Start program. You'll work flexibly across different classroom settings, adapting to the day-to-day needs of our program while maintaining a focus on fostering positive child development outcomes and enriching the classroom experience for every student.
What You'll Do
- Support lead teachers in delivering evidence-based curriculum and instructional activities
- Assist with implementation of learning objectives tailored to individual children's developmental stages
- Help create and maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
- Engage children in developmentally appropriate activities and play-based learning
- Support classroom management and behavioral guidance using positive approaches
- Help with classroom transitions, routines, and daily operations
- Document observations and contribute to ongoing child assessments as directed
- Support communication between staff and families regarding child progress

- Reliable transportation to our Morehead, Rowan County location
- High school diploma or GED; early childhood education experience or related certifications a plus
- Willingness to learn and grow professionally within an Early Head Start framework
