Director of Staff Development

ADAPT of Hudson Valley is seeking an experienced Director of Staff Development to join our team in Middletown, New York as a full-time senior leader dedicated to building an exceptional workforce and advancing the professional capabilities of our team members.

About the Role

As Director of Staff Development, you will guide the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of our organization's training and professional development programs. You'll work closely with department heads and executive leadership to ensure that every team member has access to the resources, skills, and mentorship needed to succeed in their roles and advance their careers at ADAPT of Hudson Valley. This position plays a critical role in shaping organizational culture, supporting staff retention, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and quality standards.

What You'll Do

• Develop and implement comprehensive training curricula that build core competencies across the organization
• Oversee direct supervision and performance coaching for department employees
• Create professional development pathways and career advancement opportunities
• Ensure all training aligns with state and federal regulatory requirements and industry best practices
• Monitor quality standards and evaluation metrics to demonstrate program effectiveness
• Partner with program leadership to identify staffing needs and skill gaps
• Foster a learning culture that supports continuous improvement and employee engagement

What We're Looking For

• Comprehensive knowledge of organizational operations, policies, and procedures
• Deep understanding of relevant regulatory requirements and quality assurance standards
• Proven experience in training design, adult learning, and staff development
• Strong supervisory and coaching skills with the ability to lead and mentor across departments
• Experience with performance management systems and employee development practices
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or related field preferred
