Director of Career Services and Strategic National Employer Outreach

Seton Hall University, New Jersey seeks a Director of Career Services and Strategic National Employer Outreach to lead university-wide employer engagement across major US markets. This full-time role, based in Newark, New Jersey, partners with the Assistant Dean of Career Services to expand our national employment footprint and strengthen institutional connections with leading employers.

About the Role

In this director-level position, you'll develop and execute Seton Hall's strategic plan for national employer outreach, targeting key regional corridors and industry sectors. Working closely with career services leadership, you'll build lasting partnerships with employers while advancing the university's mission to equip students with meaningful career pathways.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement employer outreach strategy targeting national markets—including the New York and East Coast region, Washington D.C., California, and West Coast hubs
• Conduct direct outreach and relationship development with major employers in corporate sectors, law firms, and other industries aligned with student career interests
• Travel regularly to meet with employer executives, attend industry events, and represent Seton Hall in regional talent markets
• Coordinate with on-campus career services teams to integrate national employer initiatives into broader student development and placement programs
• Monitor market trends, employer hiring patterns, and talent demands to inform Seton Hall's career partnerships and programming decisions

What We're Looking For

• Substantial experience in career services administration, employer relations, or higher education career development
• Demonstrated track record launching and managing regional or national employer engagement initiatives
• Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills with ability to engage senior talent leaders and business executives
• Comfort with frequent travel to build and maintain employer partnerships
• Strategic mindset with proven ability to develop plans, set goals, and measure program effectiveness
