About the Role

As Director, Field Medical Excellence at Merck, you will operate as a senior leader within the Center for Scientific Exchange Excellence (CSEE), based on-site in Wake Island, Honolulu. In this strategic capacity, you will own the global standard for Scientific Exchange Professional performance—setting the vision, defining benchmarks, and continually elevating how field medical teams deliver value across markets. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who thrives on building frameworks that endure and inspire industry-leading outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and articulate the overarching vision for Field Medical excellence across Merck's global organization.
• Establish, measure, and refine the standards that govern Scientific Exchange Professional performance worldwide.
• Benchmark field medical capabilities against best-in-class practices and identify opportunities for advancement.
• Champion the continuous improvement and long-term sustainability of scientific exchange excellence initiatives.
• Partner with stakeholders across the Center for Scientific Exchange Excellence to align strategy with execution.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience within field medical, medical affairs, or scientific exchange functions.
• A track record of defining performance standards and driving measurable improvement across global teams.
• Strategic thinking paired with the ability to translate vision into actionable, scalable frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder management and the credibility to influence across a complex, international organization.
• Willingness to work full-time and on-site in Wake Island, Honolulu.
