About the Role
As a Design Engineer at Ando, you'll sit at the intersection of product design and engineering, translating ambitious ideas into fast, polished, on-site experiences. Ando is reimagining team messaging from first principles—built around durable memory and AI agents that participate as first-class members of every conversation. Your craft will help make the product feel lighter, quicker, and more delightful than anything teams rely on today.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build refined, high-performance interfaces that people genuinely want to use for hours each day.
- Bridge design and engineering, turning concepts and prototypes into shipped, production-quality features.
- Craft interactions that make AI agents feel like natural, first-class collaborators alongside human teammates.
- Raise the bar on speed, responsiveness, and visual detail across the entire experience.
- Partner closely with product, design, and engineering peers to iterate quickly and ship thoughtfully.
Qualifications
- Strong skills spanning both interface design and front-end engineering.
- A portfolio or track record of shipping fast, elegant, user-facing products.
- An eye for detail and a high standard for quality, motion, and craft.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving environment that is rethinking established tools from the ground up.
- Ability to work on-site in San Francisco, California (this role is not remote).
