Environmental Protection Specialist

Join Defense Logistics Agency in Bowling Green, Warren County as an Environmental Protection Specialist, where you'll help maintain compliance with environmental regulations across the DoD enterprise and support the agency's critical logistics operations. This is a full-time position that offers telework flexibility.

About the Role

As an Environmental Protection Specialist at DLA, you will oversee environmental compliance activities, ensuring the agency meets federal and departmental environmental standards. You will work closely with DLA components, service partners, and auditing teams to identify compliance gaps and implement solutions that protect the environment while supporting military readiness.

What You'll Do

• Monitor and track environmental compliance status across Defense Logistics Agency operations and service component audits
• Analyze audit findings and develop comprehensive corrective action plans to address identified compliance issues
• Create and refine standard operating procedures that guide environmental practices and ensure regulatory adherence
• Develop and manage environmental contracts aligned with DLA's compliance objectives
• Use the DLA Enterprise Business System (EBS) to generate Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPRs) for environmental funding and resource allocation
• Document compliance activities and maintain records that support regulatory reporting
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external agencies to resolve environmental concerns

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, business administration, or a related field
• Knowledge of federal environmental regulations and DoD compliance requirements
• Experience developing and implementing corrective action plans
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and service components
• Familiarity with enterprise resource planning systems or database management tools preferred
• Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one
