Amneal is recruiting a Deputy Manager in Government Relations to join its team in India. This is a full-time position based on-site in India for a professional ready to lead regulatory strategy and stakeholder engagement with government agencies.
The Opportunity
Government relations in the pharmaceutical sector requires deep knowledge of India's regulatory environment and proven ability to navigate complex approvals processes. As Deputy Manager, Government Relations at Amneal, you will take ownership of strategic regulatory affairs, building relationships with key government bodies and ensuring our products advance through approval pathways on schedule. This role sits at the intersection of business strategy, regulatory compliance, and government engagement—offering meaningful impact on Amneal's growth in India.
Core Duties
- Develop and execute government relations strategy aligned with product registration and approval timelines
- Lead submission of regulatory applications to the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), managing approvals across all relevant form categories and ensuring adherence to CDSCO guidance for industry
- Engage with state prohibition and excise authorities to secure approvals and maintain compliance with regional regulations
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory frameworks, including the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, Gujarat Prohibition Acts, and NDPS Act requirements
- Monitor regulatory deadlines, track approval status, and escalate issues to ensure timely progression
- Build and maintain productive relationships with government officials, regulators, and industry bodies
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Indian pharmaceutical regulatory law and CDSCO processes
- Demonstrated experience in government relations, regulatory affairs, or equivalent roles in pharmaceuticals or healthcare
- In-depth understanding of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, CDSCO guidance documents, and state-level prohibition and excise regulations
- Familiarity with NDPS Act compliance in a pharmaceutical context
- Proven ability to manage multiple regulatory submissions and approval timelines concurrently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of regional languages a plus
- Ability to work independently and liaise effectively with government agencies
