Epic Special Education Staffing is seeking a dedicated Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year in Milpitas, California. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school community committed to educational excellence and inclusive practices.

About the Role

You will serve as the primary educator and advocate for deaf and hard of hearing students, designing and delivering instruction tailored to their unique communication and learning needs. This role bridges the gap between classroom instruction and individualized education goals, ensuring every student has equitable access to curriculum and classroom participation.

What You'll Do

• Develop and implement evidence-based lesson plans using communication methods appropriate to each student's needs (sign language, spoken language, assistive technology, or hybrid approaches)
• Provide direct instruction in core academics, social-emotional learning, and communication skills
• Collaborate with interpreters, educational assistants, and mainstream teachers to support student success in integrated settings
• Monitor student progress, assess comprehension, and adjust instruction to meet individual goals outlined in IEPs
• Foster a classroom environment that celebrates deaf culture while building students' confidence and independence
• Maintain communication with families and school staff about student progress and support strategies

What We're Looking For

• California teaching credential in deaf and hard of hearing education (or equivalent, depending on state requirements)
• Fluency in American Sign Language or commitment to developing this skill
• Strong understanding of deaf education methodology and communication approaches
• Experience working with students across grade levels in educational settings
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
• Passion for advocating for students with hearing loss and promoting their academic and social growth
